When It All Comes Crashing Down

Lately it seems like everyone I know has been having a tough time.  I recently turned 29 51 (I see my editors are "fixing" things again) and it has become painfully apparent that the older you get and the more relationships you have lead to more sad things happening.  There are good things that happen, but it seems like there are also bad things too...and they happen with greater frequency!  It is of utmost importance that we have a solid foundation.  We need to be praying, reading the Word, fellowshipping, and developing our faith before these trials come.
Matthew 7:24-27 tells us about how to build our lives.   “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
The bible is very clear.  If you want to be able to stand during the storms of life you need to build on the rock.  My advice...build on that rock long before you see storm clouds in the sky.  Too often Christians seem content to wait until their lives are falling apart before they hit their knees.  Don't let your house...your family...your life...experience that "great" fall.  God has made a way, and the foundation needs to be built upon...today!

Heavenly Father help us!  Plant in each of us an unquenchable desire to serve, know, and fellowship with You.  Storms are coming.  Give us the wisdom to build on the firm foundation!  In the name of Jesus I pray.
