Sermon Notes:
Only A Holy God: Part 3
Theology of God’s Holiness in Exodus
Exodus 25:8-9
1. Israel could not handle the immensity of God’s holiness in any tangible way; therefore, the tabernacle was necessary, but a holy God required a holy residing place.
2. Not only did the tabernacle illuminate God’s holy character, it also illuminated His purpose to both dwell with and redeem mankind.
3. Exodus 40:34 is the culmination and epitome of God’s holiness in the book of Exodus.
Life Application:
Q. Where does God dwell now?
A. He dwells in every Christian.
Q. What does this mean for us?
A. Just as the tabernacle had exact specifications for the presence of God, He gives us specifications as He dwells within us too. This is found in 1 Peter 1:16, “You shall be holy for I am holy”.
1. There are no shortcuts in the Christian life.
2. What is your heart’s living arrangement for Christ like?
