Lie #7: The cross is not about wrath.
Why does Satan love to get us away from the truth of wrath in the cross?
1. A failure to embrace the wrath of God through the cross loses the offense of our sin against God.
2. A failure to embrace the wrath of God through the cross downplays the truth of God’s holiness.
3. A failure to embrace the wrath of God through the cross dampens our need for salvation.
Why does Satan want us to see a tidy cross over a bloody one?
1. The blood of Christ washes sinners clean.
2. The blood of Christ accomplishes justice.
3. The blood of Christ reminds Satan of his doom.
4. The blood of Christ pays the wrath owed by sinners.
What does a bloody, wrath-filled cross mean for us as believers?
1. It shows the great love of God for His children.
2. It puts our boast in Christ’s work on the cross and not ourselves.
3. It makes the cross personal.
