In 1999 a terrible event took place.  The Columbine shooting left 12 students dead.  One of the victims, Cassie Bernall, was reportedly asked the question, "Do you believe in God?"  When she answered in the affirmative, she was killed.
People have discussed whether or not this really happened, but what is undeniably true is that a belief in God and the saving work of Jesus demands a total buy in.  You can't believe and not be totally sold out.
In Matthew 13:44-46  we read, "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
The point of this story is that we can't hold on to the old things that we ascribed value to if we have truly found the "treasure".
Think about that story and be ready to answer these questions:
1.  What does the treasure in those verses refer to?
2.  What is the cost of the treasure?
3.  What are some things you are holding on to?
Listen to this song while your reflect on this.  We will meet at 2 PM on March 18, 2020 to discuss and pray.  This is where we will meet.
