This past weekend we had our first Fifth Quarter event. We had an ice cream bar, several stomach wrenching games, a nine square in the air tournament, and a whipped cream fight between two youth leaders (who shall remain nameless). It was a lot of fun and was one of the best times we have had at church. One thing that there wasn't was bible study. Now, I am certainly not against bible study, but that evening wasn't about studying the bible. It was about just hangin' out and having fun.
There isn't anything wrong with getting together with people and having fun. Being in a church is like being in a family. Could you imagine if your family was only there to make you do work or study? There needs to be times of play and times of work.
Read Ecclesiastes 3:1-9 and you will see that there are times for many different things in your life. Enjoy them as God presents them.
