April 9, 2018 Keep the Fire Burning

Last week at Youth Group we talked about ten ways to keep the fire burning in your life.  Of course, we aren't talking about a literal fire that we are throwing logs on in an attempt to keep warm.  We are talking about that Holy Spirit fire that burns brighter and hotter within us as we supply fuel.  The ten ways we listed were:
1.  Serve God.
2.  Cling to good.
3.  Be joyful.
4.  Be patient in affliction.
5.  Be faithful in prayer.
6.  Give.
7.  Don't go looking for revenge.
8.  Rejoice with those who rejoice.
9.  Mourn with those who mourn.
10.  Overcome evil with good.
These ten items came from Romans chapter 12.  You can read that passage here.  Now there are a lot more things that you can do as a Christian in order to feed your spirit.  The above is not an exhaustive list!  If you have something to add, won't you please comment.  Your insight will be a joy to me!
Heavenly Father, thank you so much for putting your Spirit in us.  Please help us to constantly fill our hearts with things that glorify you.  Give us strength to work for you in all things and fill us with your love to share with others.  In Jesus name we pray, amen.
What is the fuel that keeps your
soul warm?
